This glorious syrah is exactly the briary, supple style of wine that finds such appeal with pinot drinkers, or those who prefer layered subtlety over blockbuster shiraz styles.

Fermented from de-stemmed fruit, with some stalks added back for extra perfume, complexity and chewy tannin. The nose is intoxicating, quite heady with musky rose, dark raspberry, licorice, fresh herbs and chocolate. Very supple and layered in the mouth, spicy Szechuan pepper comes through, complementing the dark briary fruit. Textural with fine-grained tannins.
