Utzinger 2024 Chardonnay
Winery : Utzinger
Lauren and Matthias Utzinger have been producing wine from Tamar Valley fruit since vintage 2018. In that year they also planted their own vineyard near Legana, and it is now the source of superb Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, with a smattering of other grapes. In a very short time, Matthias has developed a reputation as one of the state's best winemakers.
Michele's notes: Beautifully fragrant with sweet citrus, nougat, peaches & cream, a little white pepper, fig and honeysuckle. In the mouth toasty/pastry elements come through - think lemon tart - with a delicious lick of salted caramel on the finish. It is so persistently tasty, the flavours bounce. There is a great balance between freshness and Chardonnay textural satisfaction.
