Craggy Range Aroha 2021 Pinot Noir
Craggy Range's famed Te Muna Road Vineyard, established in 1998, is located some seven kilometres outside the Martinborough township. The vineyard consists of two distinct terraces, the higher comprising very old, stony clay-infused soils, perfect for pinot noir.
Aroha (which means "love" in Māori) is crafted using fruit from selected blocks within the estate's Te Muna vineyard, particularly areas with older, clay-infused soils. The 2021 vintage underwent indigenous fermentation (including a portion of whole clusters) and matured for over a year in French oak. Critics consistently rate it highly (e.g., 98 points from Huon Hooke) for its plush dark-cherry core, mineral acidity, and savoury complexity.
