2012 Fromm 'Fromm Vineyard' Pinot Noir $85: Michele's notes - A great big mouthful, so layered, so incredibly persistent. Dark fruits with licorice and spicy anise. Unfined and unfiltered with beautiful smoothness. Tasted alongside a tidy line-up of 2011 Burgundies from top Domaines and it blitzed most apart from Geantet-Pansiot's Chambolle.
2013 Fromm 'Brancott Valley' Pinot Noir $75: Vineyard notes - Brancott Valley is one of Marlborough’s most expressive sub regions for Pinot Noir. Fruit taken from up to four vineyard sites produces wine with a fine texture, flavour density and elegance. Michele's notes: Warmly perfumed, ripe red cherries, ultra textured but also pleasingly dry and savoury.
2013 Fromm 'Clayvin Vineyard' Pinot Noir $85: Vintage 2012: Bob Campbell - 'Marlborough’s first hillside vineyard is now regarded as one of the region’s best. Very dense fruit suggesting vine age with plum, black cherry, spice and a hint of chocolate. A rich, silky texture is the icing on the cake. Impressive wine with a history of ageing very well indeed.' Michele's notes - Outstandingly well structured but the ripe fruit keeps everything balanced. Breathing shows mocha/coffee. Overall, a very impressive wine.
