ITALY - Correggia 2015 Roero Nebbiolo
Winery : Matteo Correggia
Matteo Correggia's vinous life was devoted to proving that Roero in Piemonte could rival its more highly-regarded neighbours in the Langhe with nebbiolo, barbera and arneis. He pioneered specific sites where the soil composition was similar to those of the great Langhe vineyards, and created a suite of wines of renowned excellence, Barolo and Barbaresco among them.
Correggia's Roero Nebbiolo: Is a very pretty wine on the nose - sweet cherry and marzipan with fragrant roses, plus the characteristic cola/char. It's a supple wine, mid-weight but with flavour depth and some muscularity to finish. Lovely sweet fruit to the end, which is long. Charming, but complex too. Screw cap.
