Riesling - Pooley Riesling
Winery : Pooley Wines
Pooley is one of Tasmania's long established vineyards, the vines originally planted by the late Margaret & David Pooley at their Cooinda Vale property in the Coal Valley in 1985. The Pooley vineyard has now expanded to include Butcher's Hill on the outskirts of Richmond. Margaret managed Cooinda Vale and tended the vines well into her 90s, these days grandson Matthew is general manager and sister Anna (ex Heemskerk) is the winemaker.
2017 vintage GOLD MEDAL 96pts: 2017 Royal Melbourne Show.
Pooley's original 30YO vines and newer plantings contribute to an exceptionally balanced and harmonious wine.
Michele's notes: White blossom, intense lime, deep and round flavours. Little note of charcuterie, which is most appealing. Long, smooth and full but retaining freshness. Complete and complex.
