Burgundy, France
This delightful sparkling is officially known as a Cremant de Bourgogne. It is made from the traditional grapes of Burgundy which just so happen to be the traditional grapes of Champagne. The big difference of course is in the price – $27 as opposed to $60 or more.
It is more-ish to drink being soft, luscious and flavoursome. Notes of vanilla, almond and toasted bread drift through and the finish has a little touch of honey and balanced acid. Dry but not too dry.
Lovely presentation.
