Clemens Hill Aurelia 2021 Pinot Noirs

MIXED SIX contains 3 each Aurelia and Aurelia 'Tashinga Vineyard' Pinots

Clemens Hill Vineyard was established in the Coal River Valley more than two decades ago, with the first vintage produced in 1998.

'Aurelia' replaces the previous 'black label' and is produced from fruit of the original vineyard, just off Richmond Road. Aurelia 'Tashinga Vineyard' Pinot is produced from a small valley at 210m elevation below the crown of Mt Rumney, which is to the south-east of the original vineyard. Winemaker Penny Jones makes the wines.

2021 Clemens Hill Aurelia Pinot Noir: Michele's notes: Medium depth with clarity. Cherry, roasted nuts, earthy scents with violet/umami notes. Clemens Hill's now mature vine material shows through in depth and persistence of flavour, without weight. The use of charry oak is subtle and complementary to the fruit. Lip-smacking and more-ish.

2021 Clemens Hill Aurelia 'Tashinga Vineyard' Pinot Noir Michele's notes: Bold, deep colour. Dark fruits galore - all the bramble berries plus cherry. A hint of Szechuan pepper adds smoky spice which serves to enhance the fruit. There is a vibrant fruit presence in the mouth matched with sleek textural flow, fine tannins and extraordinary persistence. Will cellar superbly.
