Young Frenchman Mikael Gillard is their outstandingly knowledgeable and enthusiastic representative On Tuesday, June 2, from 5-6.30pm he will present a range of premium aperitifs, spirits and liqueurs -
- Maidenii Dry & Classic Vermouth - A collaboration between French winemaker Gilles Lapalus and bartender Shaun Bryne, Maidenii is the new ultra premium Australian vermouth wowing cocktail lovers, and cooks, all over the country.
- Whitley Neill Gin - English gin, spiced with African-inspired botanicals including the fruit of the Boabab tree which imparts an orange element.
- Vedrenne 'Le G' Gin - exquisite French gin, very fragrant with spicy botanicals of coriander, angelica, orange and chili.
- Rin Quin Quin Peche - French aperitif par excellence. Amazingly refreshing and uplifting with the pure accents of peach. Versatile mixer.
- Lillet Blanc - Beloved of the Duchess of Windsor, James Bond and Hannibal Lector, Lillet is made from white Bordeaux wines and fruit liqueurs. Classic mixer.
- Darroze Armagnac 1992 - Great year in Armagnac. Lovely fruity line here with apricot, and rich marzipan, delicate.
- Paul Giraud VSOP Cognac - 8 year old Cognac from the Grande Champagne area. Fruity and soft with honeyed finish.
- Couvreur Whisky PX Cask - Very smooth, slightly peated French whisky with the richness bestowed by PX (sherry) casks.
- Gelas Cordialer Orange - Armagnac base with essence of Caribbean green orange skins. Liqueur digestif for after dinner.
- Le Birlou Apple & Chestnut Liqueur - Winter comfort drink, quite addictive. Wonderfully fragrant apple with the roundness and richness of roasted chestnut. Medium sweet, in no way cloying.
This is a rare opportunity to taste a fascinating range of delicious French spirits and liqueurs at the top level and learn how best to use them. Nibbles will also be provided.
