New Zealand's Central Otago region comprises several sub-regions, all of which bestow particular style characteristics in the wines. The wines of Cromwell basin and Wanaka are sweetly scented and openly textured while Bannockburn pinots show exceptional harmony and balance.
2019 Terra Sancta Estate Pinot Noir: One of the oldest established vineyards in the Bannockburn region. Aromas of satsuma plums, mushrooms, smoky charcuterie and hint of vanilla. Exotic spices enhance the fruit and savoury aromas. Delicious ripe fruit flavours flood the palate.
2017 Domaine Rewa Pinot Noir: Biodynamic producer from Pisa Ranges, Cromwell Basin. Established in 1997. Deep colour, sleek dark fruits, licorice and star anise. Savoury finish.
2020 Moonlight Race by Burn Cottage Pinot Noir: Biodynamic producer. Blend of grapes from the original Burn Cottage vineyard in Cromwell and the Sauvage vineyard in Bannockburn. Morello cherry, spice, orange rind aromas ahead of a juicy palate with ultra fine tannins.
2021 Nanny Goat Pinot Noir: Outstanding release of this deservedly popular Pinot made from Cromwell/Queensberry fruit. Alluring perfume of cherry fruit, plum and chocolate. Excellent flow across the palate.
2016 Surveyor Thomson Pinot Noir: Biodynamic producer. Cromwell texture and charm in this fine-grained Pinot Noir. Umami and violet to the fore, along with coffee, cocoa and charcuterie.
2021 Charteris Pinot Noir: Wanaka fruit. Low yields and tiny berries have given the wine concentration, power and depth of flavour. Excellent cellaring prospect.
