Baillieu 2016 Pinot Noir

The Baillieu family (Samantha is the daugher of Baillieu Myer of Elgee Park) established their 10ha Vineyard on their larger property, Bulldog Run, in 1999. It is situated in the famed Merrick's Road area of the Mornington Peninsula. Geraldine McFaul (Willow Creek) makes Baillieu wines.

This is a fantastic pinot for the price! Bright crimson in the glass, fragrant with red roses, cherries and cardamom. Essentially clear and vibrant in character, but after a second taste there's soft generosity too. Good char from the oak adds a chocolatey element and some savoury weight on the finish. Joyous, satisfying and complex pinot noir.
