Maude 2022 Pinot Noir
Winery : Maude Wines
Winemakers Sarah-Kate and Dan Dineen developed their respective careers in the Hunter, before returning to SK's homeland of NZ and her family vineyard Mt Maude (Wanaka, Central Otago) in the pursuit of making pinot noir.
This wine is a blend of fruit from the Poison Creek, Queensbury (close to Wanaka) and Mohawk Hill in Lowburn (Cromwell Basin). Twenty percent whole bunch, No fining, minimal filtration.
Michele's notes: Rich magenta ruby. Enticing aromas of cherry/berry and bakery with hints of anise, wet stone and sweet spice. Terrific pinot energy in the mouth, the flavours bounce. Harmony is everything though, with the acid beautifully tucked into ripe fruit, complemented by liquorice strap. There's a lovely textural note of glycerol at the end. Classy and very tasty.
