Jane Eyre 2022 Burgundies
Winery : Jane Eyre
Jane Eyre arrived in Burgundy in 2004. Now, after a decade of producing wines under her own micro-negociant label, she has been awarded La Revue de France's 'Negociant of the Year 2021'. Eyre's approach is one of careful nurturing - techniques to suit the season and interference only when necessary. 'I figure if I buy the best fruit I can afford and fastidiously sort it, then what needs to be extracted will come out without me forcing things. '
2022 Auxey Duresses Les Crais Burgundy: Jane Eyre notes: 'Medium garnet in colour. The fruit hides when initially opened. Gradually the wine opens up and expresses aromas of cherries, blackberries and a hint of spice from the oak. Medium bodied, the wine has good acidity and weight with a touch of spice coupled with darker fruit finishing off with fine, grippy tannins.'
2022 Jane Eyre Fleurie (cru Beaujolais): Screw cap. Jane Eyre notes: 'Made from a blend of Labourons, La Madone and Garants. I wanted to make a more ‘traditional’ Beaujolais. Each parcel was handpicked and vinified together. 100% whole bunch. Perfect for summer drinking, or if you are searching for a lighter red wine. The nose is a blend of rose petal and white-pepper. Medium to light weight on the palate it is fresh with soft tannins on the finish. Made to drink now.'
