Apsley Gorge 2021 Pinot Noir

Tasmania's Apsley Gorge is a world apart. The location is unique, the vineyard snuggled as it is under the Douglas Apsley National Park at the northern end of the East Coast. It is a cool location, extending the ripening season and making it among the last to pick in the state. Brian Franklin has honed his experience in both hemispheres - he produces wine in both France and Tasmania.

2021 Apsley Gorge Pinot Noir: Michele's notes: Unmistakably Apsley Gorge Pinot with its earthy, orange, iodine, plum, charcuterie, chocolate, and liquorice aromas. A hint of struck match and aromatic woody herbs adds complexity.

Gloriously luscious and smooth in the mouth, the wine is utter textural bliss. Dark chocolate notes are complemented by rich fruits which retain their essential pinot vibrancy to the last.
