Bell & Gong 2017 Pinot Noir
Winery : Bell & Gong
From Longford, south of Launceston in the northern Midlands. This is a relatively new area for growing vines, but judging from the quality of this Bell & Gong Pinot (the first vintage off their own vines), expect to see more happening in this locale.
The vineyard is planted to largely the Abel (or 'Gumboot') clone, made famous by Ata Rangi. Medium bodied pinot with lovely perfume - an enticing meld of red cherry, strawberry and wet slate. It is soft and full in the mouth, with a lush, slightly grainy texture. The flavours linger well.
