Ouse 2016 Pinot Noir

Ouse Pinot Noir is from Tasmania's Central Highlands, a little further north and further inland than the Upper Derwent Valley.

Bernard Brain established a small vineyard on his family's mixed farm in 2002. From the first vintage the fruit was eagerly sought after to supply some of the country's top sparklings, Arras included. Dalrymple also makes a single site Ouse Pinot from this vineyard. Temperatures during the long growing season here can be high in the daytime, falling rapidly at night; these conditions favouring depth and concentration in pinot noir.

Michele's notes: Deep and dark in colour, the aromas follow suit - rich plums and blackberry with vanilla, cola and touch of earth. Exciting stuff! Despite the power and weight in the mouth, there's delicious pinot juiciness and a finishing touch of fine tannin. The dark fruit flavours are overlaid with subtle and savoury oak.
