Chartley Estate was established by the Kossmanns in 2000 at Rowella, a very picturesque spot on the Tamar River just north of the Batman Bridge. Chartley Estate has been particularly renowned for its excellent Riesling and Pinot Gris, but this latest release of outstanding Pinot Noir shows just how good the variety can be from this riverside vineyard. Small amounts of MV6 clone (planted in 2018-2019) were added to the crush for the 2021 vintage. Peter Dredge made that wine.
Michele's notes: Fragrant and appealing bouquet of blueberry and young berries with a touch of sweet spice. Supple and silky in the mouth, and extremely tasty - the flavours are everywhere. While the sweet fruit is evident the overall finish is cleansing and dry. A superb release.
