- 2 x 2014 Vincent Delaporte Sancerre: Fruity, as well as classically minerally, a consequence of the warm vintage. Pretty florals on the nose - white flowers/lilium. You'd never guess you were drinking sauvignon blanc.. Vincent Delporte has been established since the C17th in the village of Chavignol.
- 2 x 2014 Majone Picpoul de Pinet: Old variety, grown on sandy, southern coastal regions. It has the raciness of Loire Muscadet but with a touch more fragrance and fruit ahead of a racily dry and savoury finish. The name picpoul means “lip stinger” on account of the high acidity of the must. Brilliant with seafood.
- 2 x 2013 Chateau de Segries Tavel Rose: Loved by the Sun-King Louis XIV and praised by Balzac, Tavel (in the Rhone) is France's most famous rose appellation. Fabulously full-bodied and dry rose. Grenache is the base with Cinsault, Clairette, and a smidge of Syrah. The colour is quite deep salmon/ruby.
- 2 x 2014 Jean Paul Brun Beaujolais Cuvee Premiere: Living Wine notes 'The Jean-Paul Brun Cuvée Première is released under the Beaujolais appellation and is 100% Gamay. Jean-Paul Brun does not use the common carbonic maceration technique so widely practiced in Beaujolais, nor does he use the commercial yeast 71B, also widely used. Instead he uses Burgundian methods of destemming and maceration and only natural yeasts in fermentation. Made from 20YO vines, drinking very nicely right now.'
- 2 x 2013 Mas des Bressades Costieres de Nimes: 55% syrah, 45% grenache. Softly but richly fruity - dark berries, fresh thyme and chocolate - from an estate established in 1964 in southern Rhone.
- 2 x 2012/13 La Roubine Cotes du Rhone Villages Sablet: This is a tiny appellation for the wines which grow near the village of Sablet in southern Rhone. The area is characteristed by the sandy soil, which gives the name 'sablet'. 70% grenache, 25% syrah, 5% cinsault. No oak, minimal intervention. Smooth in the mouth with pure and vibrant fruit. Delightful.
