'Nothing like these has ever come out of Campania before; the wines are unbelievably intense without being heavy or cloying, displaying such deep, vivid varietal and terroir character. Frighteningly good wines.' JUSTERINI & BROOKS

Lovers of Italian whites as we are, we were particularly excited to receive a shipment of rare, top-level wines from Luigi Moio's Campania estate Quintodecimo. That they were made from, respectively, Fiano, Falanghina and Greco di Tufo, some of Italy's more interesting indigenous grapes, added to the excitement.

'Proprietor Luigi Moio continues to set the bar high - very high - at his small property in Campania. Moio's rich textured whites and red are among the most exciting wines being made in Italy today. I never miss a chance to drink them and neither should you.' ANTONIO GALLONI, Feb 2013

2012 Quintodecimo Giallo d'Arles (Greco di Tufo) $82: Magnificent wine, a complete revelation. As complex and luxurious as a very good Condrieu, and with a gorgeous fragrance and flavour and texture in the mouth to match. Lingers superbly, with a cleansing minerality to complement the amazing fruit.

2012 Quintodecimo Exultet (Fiano d'Avellino) NOW $69: Only a couple. Exquisite, syrupy and sumptuous, a big, delicious wine. According to Jancis Robinson, Fiano is an old variety (from Campania) whose presence near Foggia was mentioned as early as 1240.  '(Fiano wines) have an attractively waxy texture and subtle aromas and the best have the capacity to age.'

2012 Quintodecimo Via del Campo (Falanghina) NOW $62: Only a couple 'There is a level of textural finesse that sets the Quintodecimo Falanghina apart from the vast majority of Italian whites being made today.' ANTONIO GALLONI. Falanghina is Campania's signature white wine grape, although phylloxera had decimated the area under cultivation until renewed interest in the '70s. 'Intense and powerful, rich flavours of salt and minerals with fruit notes of pear skin, mirabelle, citrus and herbs. Full but balanced, unctuous and deep with a razor sharp freshness.' JUSTERINI & BROOKS
