Utzinger 2023 Chardonnay

Lauren and Matthias Utzinger have been producing wine from Tamar Valley fruit since vintage 2018. In that year they also planted their own vineyard near Legana, and it is now the source of superb Pinot, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Syrah grapes. In a very short time, Matthias has developed a reputation as one of the state's best winemakers

Winemaker notes: wild ferment in mostly seasoned oak, partial malo, seven months on full lees, gentle filtration.

Michele's notes: This is a beautifully oaked, not overdone, lusciously fruited wine. Roasted cashew, yellow peach, a little pithy citrus and perfect savouriness from the oak, balancing the pristine but tasty, textural fruit. Simply superb!
