Chatto 2024 Pinot Noirs

MIXED SIX contains 2 x Lutruwita, 1 x Killara Farm, 1 x Franklinii, 1 x Seven Inch & 1 x Bird Pinot Noirs

This new collection is a superb showcase of Jim Chatto's intuitive, understated and site-respectful winemaking - skills that he has garnered from more than 25 years of making Pinot Noir in Tasmania. As well as Jim and Daisy Chatto’s own Isle vineyard in the Huon Valley, they also source fruit from special sites around Tasmania.

2024 Chatto Lutruwita Pinot Noir:  MULTI-REGIONAL. Michele's notes: Ruby garnet hues. Intense briar fruits with a touch of resin/smokiness. An aromatic lift of raspberry, red currant and cranberry gives the nose plenty of appeal. Fruity elements with liquorice, mocha and toasty notes from the oak combine harmoniously on the palate. Excellent 'black tea' tannins and a touch of astringency on the finish.

2024 Chatto Killara Farm Pinot Noir: COAL RIVER VALLEY - Michele's notes: Impressive wine with typical CRV attributes - chocolate, plum and zesty cranberry. Intense, deep and rich. Very tasty, very satisfying.

2024 Chatto Bird Vineyard Pinot Noir: PIPERS RIVER - Michele's notes: Ethereal florals, red fruits. There's delicacy and subtlety here but also power. Fine, savoury grittiness on the finish. The use of large, old oak lets the pure fruit sing.

2024 Chatto Franklinii Pinot Noir: HUON VALLEY - Michele's notes: Bright crimson, sweet fruit aromas with spice. Layered with fine but grippy tannins. The fruit flavours are deliciously persistent, and are everywhere.

2024 Seven Inch Pinot Noir: HUON VALLEY - Michele's notes: A small vineyard very close to Chatto's own Isle vineyard, named for the local beach. Red fruits, minerality, ozone/iodine all adding to the intrigue.
