Grasshopper Rock Pinot Noir
Winery : Grasshopper Rock
From the southernmost sub-region of Central Otago, Alexandra, Grasshopper Rock proves its pinot 'rockstar' status, vintage after vintage.
Vineyard notes on the special characteristics of Grasshopper Rock site: 'The vineyard is situated on Earnscleugh Road, across the Clutha River from Alexandra. The site enjoys high sunshine hours and high mean temperatures and is sufficiently harsh and difficult to make the vines work their hardest. With extremes of heat and cold comes the risk of spring and autumn frosts, providing a demanding but rewarding environment for the production of premium pinot noir.'
Purple-hued colour, the aromas of blackcurrant jelly and the ripe/juicy/bouncy fruit in the mouth. It is both a mouth-filling and mouth-watering pinot.
