ITALY - Bricco Maiolica 2014 Barbera d'Alba

ITALY - Bricco Maiolica 2014 Barbera d'Alba

Winery : Bricco Maiolica

$34.00 - $192.00

From Piedmont, in Italy's truffle belt. After sangiovese, barbera is the most widely grown grape in Italy.

The Diano d'Alba region, and the Maiolica hill, from whence Bricco Maiolica's Barbera d'Alba hails, is one of the premium spots for the variety. Fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks, it is a fragrant, supple and velvety wine. There's a very pretty bouquet, and it's juicy in the mouth but also has a complementary and appealing gentle savouriness.
A very nice introduction to Italian wines for die-hard pinot drinkers.
