Moorilla 2014 Cloth Label Red

This wine is a homage to the original cloth labels of Moorilla Estate. This unusual presentation was of course inspired by Moorilla's founder (in 1958), Claudio Alcorso, an Italian emigre textile merchant.

Pinot dominant in this low-yielding vintage, there are other grapes that make up the luxury 'field blend' from the northern (Tamar) St Matthias Vineyard. Wonderful perfume of cherry/berry fruits with a smoky/blackcurrant overlay. Full in the mouth, with juicy acidity and a lean, finely-honed backbone to balance the quite plush fruit. Screw cap.
