Nanny Goat Pinot Noirs
Winery : Nanny Goat
MIXED SIX comprises 3 each 2021 Nanny Goat and 2020 Super Nanny Pinots.
Nanny Goat Vineyard is named after the wild goats that roam the mountainous terrain of Central Otago. The estate vineyard is in the Queensberry sub region, approximately halfway between Cromwell and Wanaka, alongside the Mata Au/Clutha River. The Nanny Goat team also works with growers in Pisa, Gibbston, Bannockburn & Queensberry to source more premium fruit. Central Otago native Alan Peters-Oswald is the winemaker.
2021 Nanny Goat Pinot Noir: Michele's notes: Deep colour. Alluring perfume of rich dark cherry fruit, plum and brioche. There’s chocolate and slate too. Smooth in the mouth with a lovely flow across the palate. The balance between fruit, oak, tannin and acid is excellent. Very tasty indeed.
2020 Super Nanny Pinot Pinot Noir: Super Nanny comprises the best parcels of fruit the from Nanny Goat vineyard and selected partnering vineyards. Michele's notes: Very deep colour. Wonderful perfume of red damask roses with brambleberries, a waft of coffee, chocolate and wet stone. Jubey and juicy dark fruits on the palate with complementary fine and slightly chalky tannins. The wine is not heavy, but perfectly structured, the delicious flavours linger and linger. Top drawer.
