Native Point 2010 Pinot Noir

Native Point 2010 Pinot Noir

Winery : Native Point

$34.00 - $360.00
Native Point is at Swan Bay on the eastern bank of the Tamar. It is close to the picturesque township of Windermere, which was the site of a very earlyTasmanian vineyard planted by Dr Matthias Gaunt in the mid 1800s. His vineyard was considered to produce superior quality wine for the thirty years he tended it until his death in 1874.

Native Point's 2009 Pinot is one of those classic Tasmanian pinots that delivery a lot more than their modest $30-ish price tag.

The colour is deep and rich and the wine yields what it promises; very sweet, rich, dark berry fruits come through on the nose and inspire immediate, mouthwatering anticipation. The palate has intense and very lively fruit, it's zippy and concentrated all at the same time. While it is very good now, particularly with rich meat dishes that need a complementary 'cut', Native Point Pinot has a great future for 5-10years, at least.
