New Zealand Luxury Pinot SIX Pack
Winery : Various
Great producers from Central Otago, Marlborough and Martinborough, rare and wonderful wines, many with in-the-zone bottle age.
1 x 2016 Kusuda Pinot (Martinborough): The scale of the vineyard and production described by Jancis Robinson as 'bonsai', there is no denying the exquisite Pinot that Hiroyuki Kusuda crafts from an extreme regime of picking one berry at a time, and the gentlest of handlings in vinification. Ethereal
1 x 2013 Fromm 'Fromm Vineyard' Pinot Noir (Marlborough): AKA 'Double Fromm'. Age-worthy Marlborough pinot with stunningly fine backbone. Red berry fruits layered with licorice and anise. An impressive mouthful.
1 x 2015 Valli Bendigo Pinot Noir (Central Otago):
1 x 2015 Dry River Pinot Noir (Martinborough): Icon producer making age-worthy pinot noirs. There's weight and gravitas here but also but joyous life. Elegant yet powerful, ripe and fleshy yet perfectly structured. The fruit is focused and sweet and it is set off brilliantly by coffee/char oak that is already integrated.
1 x 2013 Ata Rangi McCrone Pinot Noir (Martinborough): Vines for the McCrone Vineyard were planted in 2001. This wine is released with 4-5 years bottle age. Lifted perfume, clarity of fruit, understated grip. Bob Campbell 5 stars, 96 points.
1 x 2013 Quartz Reef 'Bendigo Estate' Pinot Noir (Central Otago): The might of the Bendigo sub-region is the style key here. Dark and brooding Pinot with black cherry, plum, minerality and char.
