Riesling - Pressing Matters Rieslings

$36.00

Coal Valley, Tasmania -

Pressing Matters owner (and barrister) Greg Melick is committed to riesling and has long been a lover of the great wines of Mosel. This commitment has been rewarded with a generous haul of medals and trophies at the last 5 Tasmanian Wine Shows.

"...turned his attention to grape-growing and winemaking, planting riesling (2.9ha) at his vineyard on Middle Tea Tree Road in the Coal River Valley. It is a perfect north-facing slope, the Mosel-style Rieslings sweeping all before them." James Halliday Wine Companion 2011

  • 2015 Pressing Matters R9 Riesling -  Presents as a dry wine - tiny touch of residual sugar rounds out the flavours and highlights the quality of the fruit.
  • 2015 Pressing Matters R0 Riesling - Bone dry as the R0 rating notes.
  • 2015 Pressing Matters R139 Riesling 375ml - Full on dessert style of incredible purity and finesse.
  • 2015 Pressing Matters R69 Riesling - This wine smells and drinks like a first-class German spatlaese at less than half the price. It is a harmonious and balanced wine without harsh acid or cloying sweetness, the overall impression one of sweet honeysuckle underpinned with minerals.

Pinot Shop is located in Launceston, Tasmania, Australia at 135 Paterson Street down at the river end near Cataract Gorge, Stillwater Restaurant and The Mill Providore. We specialise in the best of premium pinot noir as grown so beautifully in the cool climes of Tasmania, New Zealand and southern parts of the big Australian continent. Our love for pinot extends to its sibling styles pinot gris and grigio and fizzy cousins sparkling wine and Champagne, even when they don’t contain pinot noir. That’s not to say we’ve become too exclusive - we also stock an interesting range of delicious wines for those (rare) times when you’re not drinking pinot…
