Jacksons Block is one of two ultra premium Pinots made by Terra Sancta (formerly Olssens Vineyard). The other is the famous Slapjack Block. Terra Sancta has some prime pinot real estate in the Bannockburn sub-region of Central Otago.
2014 Terra Sancta Jacksons Block Pinot: Michele's notes: Deeply coloured, almost opaque. Dark berry fruits on the nose with intriguing savoury meatiness, then these pretty florals lift. Brooding mocha and mushrooms too in that desirable Central Otago way. Warm and encompassing, full and structured, with charry grittiness to complement the big fruit. Builds in the mouth and finishes refreshingly with slightly astringent tannins. Nice lick of sweeter vanilla right on the finish.
